If you are 50 or over on 31st March 2027, Tryouts will take place on Saturday 16th May.

 

If you are under 50 on 31st March 2027, Tryouts will take place on Sunday 17th May.

 

Please read important information below regarding the draft eligbility for Season 4.

Last season, of the 142 players that attended the Tryouts event in Halton, 53 of them went on to play in Season 3 of the PPL. 37 of these players had not been part of PPL Season 1 or 2.

 

Pickleball is a rapidly evolving sport, with everyone improving at different rates and new players appearing on the scene all the time. All teams are redrafted every year and we anticipate 36-48 over 50s and 108-120 under 50s being drafted with equal gender splits.

We are committed to ensuring that the PPL continues to represent the highest level of competition in the UK and as such will be restricting draft eligibility to those that either meet the minimum DUPR rating requirements or are amongst the top performers at the Tryouts event based on matches played at Tryouts.

Minimum DUPR Requirements for draft eligibility

(all are eligible to sign up for Tryouts)

 

Premier & Challenger Divisions:

4.5+ for Men and 4.0+ for Women

​

Masters Division:

4.4+ for Men and 4.0+ for Women

​

 

DUPR ratings will be checked just prior to the Season 4 draft (end of May).

​

Competitive matches played at the Tryouts event will feed into DUPR.

 

If you do not yet have a DUPR rating or feel that it does not represent your current ability level, Tryouts represents a perfect opportunity for you to show what you are capable of and gain draft eligibility.
